A city centre based college is looking for an Educational Support Assistant to support students in year 12 and 13, aged 16 - 18. Anyone with a background in Psychology who is looking to utilise this to support vulnerable young people, available on full time basis for the full academic year are encouraged to apply now for consideration. The role of the Educational Support Assistant at this highly reputable college is to support students in lessons, assist those who are identified as having SEN as well as support academic students with various subjects. The successfully appointed assistant will therefore have to be adaptable and confident in supporting students on a one to one basis and also in full classes, having the opportunity to support in a variety of areas and in many subjects.

Highlights of this Educational Support Assistant role:

  • Full time Educational Support Assistant required starting in  21st September for the remainder of the academic year until July
  • Pay will be dependent upon experience and specific hours but likely have an earning potential of up to GBP1450 per month
  • Hours likely to be 9 – 4pm in line with the college day
  • Opportunity to earn a college based contract following 1 term successful supply via Teaching Personnel

The college is in the central Manchester area near to Whalley Range, Chorlton, Hulme, Didsbury and Longsight. It is therefore easy for any Educational Support Assistant to get to this college utilising the public transport network or for those that drive, the college has a couple of car parks within the campus grounds.

This sixth form are looking ahead to the new academic year and are keen to recruit a confident, motivated teaching assistant that is looking to work in a supportive sixth form college. This role is a great opportunity for a graduate with a background in Psychology, a former teaching assistant or youth worker looking for more responsibility and experience in supporting students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
