A friendly and supportive nursery in Wallsend is looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join their pre-school room, supporting children as they prepare for their next steps in learning.

Position: Full-Time – Early Years Practitioner (Pre-School Room)

About the Role:

• Support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 3–4 years in the pre-school room

• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities aligned with the EYFS framework

• Promote independence, curiosity, and confidence through creative learning experiences

• Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, and transitions

• Contribute to observations, assessments, and planning for individual children’s progress

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children

What We’re Looking For:

• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or working towards one)

• Experience working with pre-school aged children in a nursery or early years setting

• A warm, patient, and child-centred approach to learning and care

• Good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding procedures

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
