English as Additional Language Teaching Assistant – part-time permanent

One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools based in the South Manchester area are currently looking for an English as Additional Language Teaching Assistant on a part-time permanent basis starting after Easter. The school have an excellent reputation for achieving excellent marks and producing young adults who are well equipped to handle life after school. The school has an incredibly diverse range of cultures within each year group and celebrates this diversity regularly ensuring that the pupils understand the benefits of being at a school like theirs. The teachers provide excellent lessons that challenge all students to achieve their academic goals and are proud of the strides that their students continue to make every single year. The school is easily accessible via public transport from Manchester city centre and the surrounding areas (approximately 20-minute bus journey from city centre).

The role will involve helping out the class teacher within carious lessons by working with students either in a small group or one to one setting. The candidate will be helping students who are EAL and require assistance within lessons such as making sure that the understanding and completion of tasks are completed in a timely fashion. The candidate will help out within a variety of classes and will be timetabled to help the same student/s throughout the school day to help bring continuity to their learning. The ideal candidate will be able to fluently speak both Arabic and Urdu (however speaking one of these will mean the candidate can still be considered).

  • Pay: £85 - £95 per day depending on experience (based on a 6.5 hour working day)
  • 3 days per week: 8:30am – 3:00pm (school flexible on which days)
  • Easter start date – permanent role

The role does not require QTS, however some of the essential requirements are listed below;

  • Fluent in multiple languages (English, Arabic and Urdu)
  • Experience of working in a UK school setting or transferrable skillset
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Must currently live in Manchester

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
