So why do drama graduates translate so well to teaching assistant and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) roles?

• Bags of confidence: not afraid to get stuck in and overcome anxieties for both yourself and child
• A huge dose of energy and enthusiasm - for some this role can be draining, especially the 1:1, intense nature that comes with it. Drama graduates seem to be immune to this, they're like Duracell bunnies!
• Creative: you drama graduates are outside the box thinkers and can get students engaged through fun and creative ideas. This can break up the monotony of some academic teaching and get outstanding results!
• Academically sound: Your Shakespeare and literature background means your English is outstanding! This works so well with academic support!

So now you know how perfect you are, here's what you will be doing:

You will be working 1:1 or in small groups with students with challenging behaviour. This will be on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30. You will supported throughout by the SENDCo and will be provided with training, including safeguarding and de-escalation training! 

This is a secondary school where the students are from the age of 11 to 16. The school has a small, community feel, which candidates really like and staff are incredibly supportive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
