The majority arrive in school working at age related expectations and finish in Y6 working either in line with age related or above.
The parents of the children who attend the school are supportive.
The Senior Leadership team is reasonably new to the school, having taken role around three years ago. In this time, the school has transitioned from a Requires Improvement Ofsted grading to Good with features of Outstanding. The report specifies how the Senior Leadership team has supported the staff in school to ensure that teaching and learning is Good and in some parts Outstanding. The report also specifies that the school ensures all the children succeed, particularly the children who are working with Education, Health and Care Plans. This has been done through the deployment of high quality and experienced special educational needs support assistants who have tailored the Curriculum to suit the needs of individual children.
The Business Manager in school is keen to arrange cover for the full academic year using Teaching Personnel on a long term supply basis. This will involve full registration, full vetting and the payroll to be run through Teaching Personnel until the school appoint. The expected hourly rate will be £9 and this will include holiday allowance (12%) and employer's contribution to NI and Pension. With this, the school are looking for a highly experienced and confident Year 1 Teaching Assistant to work generally in small groups and with individual children. The class teacher will use you as an aid to learning as well as behaviour, giving additional responsibility with planning and assessment. With this in mind, the Head teacher is keen to appoint a practitioner who has a track record of raising standards in the classroom and one who is keen to 'muck in'. The school are NOT looking for a 'supply' member of staff or somebody who thinks this role will be a 'breeze'.

The role will be term time only.
The role will be temporary.
