Job description

Primary Tutor – Gosforth (NE3)

TP Tutors is looking for dedicated and passionate Primary Tutors to support pupils in Gosforth (NE3) and the surrounding areas. We work closely with local authorities, schools, and alternative provisions to deliver high‑quality 1:1 and small‑group tuition to pupils who need additional support.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced tutors to deliver personalised learning in line with the National Curriculum. Sessions may take place in schools, libraries, care settings, or the pupil’s home, depending on the referral.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 or small‑group tuition to primary‑aged pupils (KS1–KS2)
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support progress and confidence
  • Provide clear session feedback and progress updates
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
  • Maintain safeguarding and professional standards at all times

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant relevant tutoring experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Experience working with pupils who may have additional learning needs
  • A patient, encouraging, and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
