Cover Supervisors Needed! 

Location: Walsall/ Wolverhampton, Secondary Schools

Start Date: Autumn Term


 

About the role: 

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are seeking professional and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the Walsall and Wolverhampton areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident, organised and passionate about supporting young people in their learning.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects. You will ensure that students remain on task, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and provide feedback to teaching staff where required. The role offers valuable classroom experience and is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or those looking to gain further experience within an educational setting.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects at KS3 and KS4 level.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.

  • Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring safeguarding and student welfare are prioritised.

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes, attendance and pupil behaviour.

  • Support pupils with their learning, encouraging participation and maintaining engagement.

  • Supervise students during non-teaching times, such as transitions or cover periods. 

Role Requirements: 

  • A degree or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential). 

  • Previous experience working with young people or within a school environment is advantageous.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and engaging students of varying abilities.

  • A positive, proactive and professional attitude towards supporting learning.

  • An up-to-date Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
