Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
We are currently recruiting for Counselling graduates to work in schools in the York on a casual basis. This is in response to the growing demand for support due to the covid-19 outbreak and the need for specialist intervention and support for young people facing challenges adapting back into the school environment. The schools range from alternative provisions, to specialist schools catering for children with a variety of needs ranging from PMLD, SEMH to Behavioural needs. You will be expected to work with a variety of ability and age levels. If you have recently graduated with a Psychology or counselling degree, and have a passion for working with young people with SEMH and behavioural needs, please apply on the details below.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.
Schools require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.
The candidate
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and resilient personality, and be able to work on their own initiative in regards to ensuring that health and safety procedures are met, and the welfare of the children.
