We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex additional learning needs in a secondary school setting.

You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your Role

• Support Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils with complex mental health, emotional, social, and additional learning needs
• Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning
• Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, focused, and productive classroom environment
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions to support individual learning and wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads to support student progress
• Encourage confidence, resilience, and active participation in all learners

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication skills and confident classroom presence
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people
• Experience in, or a genuine interest in, areas such as youth work, psychology, sport, or behaviour mentoring
• A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt in a dynamic school environment
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
