Behaviour & Learning Mentor – Ideal for Psychology Graduates & Students

Location: Cardiff (CF5)
Start Date: 13th of April 2026 (pending vetting)
Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:15-15:15
Pay: £110 per day via PAYEE with weekly pay

About the Role

As a Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you’ll play a key role in supporting students’:

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Behaviour and self-regulation

  • Academic engagement and confidence

You’ll work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support that helps students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs

  • Support the implementation of behaviour and learning plans

  • Help students develop focus, resilience, and emotional regulation skills

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Collaborate with staff and parents to support student progress

Ideal for Aspiring Professionals In:

  • Educational or Clinical Psychology

  • Counselling & Therapy

  • Teaching & SEN Support

  • Youth Work or Social Work

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology (or currently studying Psychology or a related field)

  • A genuine passion for mental health, education, and child development

  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence

  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability

  • Experience working with young people is desirable, but not essential (full training provided)

What You’ll Need

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

  • Two recent teaching or professional references

  • An up-to-date CV

  • Recent safeguarding training (or willingness to complete – we can provide this)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
