Schedule: Monday - Friday (term time only) 08:15-15:15
Are you passionate about supporting young people’s emotional wellbeing and helping them overcome barriers to learning?
Join our warm, nurturing specialist provision—separate from a mainstream secondary school—where wellbeing comes first and every young person is supported to thrive. We work with KS3 and KS4 pupils who present with additional learning needs (ALN) and experiences of trauma, delivering a blended curriculum designed to rebuild confidence, resilience, and engagement with education.
This is more than a support role. As a Student Wellbeing Support Specialist, you will play a vital part in creating stability, fostering trust, and empowering young people to develop the emotional tools they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group wellbeing support for pupils with ALN and trauma-related needs.

Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies through trauma-informed practice.

Build strong, trusting relationships that support pupils’ personal development and engagement in learning.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement individualised support and wellbeing plans.

Support behaviour through restorative and nurturing approaches aligned with safeguarding and wellbeing principles.

Contribute to maintaining a calm, inclusive, and psychologically safe learning environment.

Monitor and report on student wellbeing progress, supporting early intervention strategies where needed.
Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (support available if required).

Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – guidance provided for applicants not yet registered.

Two recent professional references from relevant employment or voluntary roles.

A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people and promoting positive mental health.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
