Future Teachers – Gain Teaching Experience
Are you a current student or recent graduate considering a career in teaching? Looking to gain real, hands-on classroom experience before committing to teacher training? This could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and confident individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across the following areas:
- Cardiff
- Bridgend
- Newport
- Pontypridd
- Caerphilly
- RCT
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who want to build experience, develop classroom management skills, and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher to ensure students remain engaged and on task. You will deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour, and support a positive learning environment.
This is not a teaching role, making it a fantastic stepping stone into education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes during teacher absences
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students stay on task
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
- Reporting back on lesson outcomes and any issues
What We’re Looking For
- Current students or recent graduates (any subject welcome)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence leading a classroom and engaging young people
- An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education
- A proactive and adaptable attitude
Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
