Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Lancaster
Salary: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a supportive residential setting in Lancaster. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals committed to supporting vulnerable children with SEN and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support, care and guidance to children and young people.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and structured environment that encourages positive outcomes.
  • Support the development of life skills, independence and emotional well-being.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure individual care plans are implemented effectively.
  • Manage challenging behaviour professionally and in line with the home’s policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and assessments.
  • Liaise with external professionals, families and education providers as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a residential or care setting is desirable.
  • A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • A valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
