SEMH Teaching Assistant – Blackpool

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Blackpool. This full-time, term-time role offers a temp-to-perm contract with a competitive hourly rate of £13.75 – £14.50.

About the Role

You will support students aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, including those with autism and anxiety-related school avoidance. Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals, you will help implement individual learning plans and positive behaviour strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in delivering tailored educational and behavioural support plans.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Encourage students' emotional regulation and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
