Hours: Full-time | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Long-term

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in Blackburn with Darwen on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and develop their social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

  • Support teachers in managing the classroom and delivering tailored learning activities

  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive and safe environment for all pupils

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN or behavioural needs

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient approach

  • Resilience and a genuine desire to support young people in overcoming barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
