Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Position: Full-Time Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Salary: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in Blackburn with Darwen. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students who face additional challenges to mainstream education. You’ll play a key role in delivering tailored educational support, encouraging personal development, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Your Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across primary and secondary age groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop key skills.

• Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development, using a compassionate and flexible approach.

• Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that students can engage and participate to the best of their ability.

• Help create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment, supporting students in building confidence and resilience.

• Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and track students’ progress, adapting support where necessary.

• Offer general support across the school, helping with other tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in supporting students in an educational setting.

• Experience working with students who may have additional educational needs, behavioural challenges, or come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

• A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting young people who may struggle in mainstream education.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• A proactive and adaptable attitude, willing to support students both academically and emotionally.
