Biology Teacher - Tameside

“Good” graded Ofsted School are looking for a Science teacher specialising in Biology to join their department in September. After a recent unexpected departure this is initially a temporary position commencing in the middle of September with the potential to carry on for the right candidate.

The post will consist of KS3 and KS4 Biology with occasional lessons of the other Sciences within the timetable. The school are looking for an experienced Science teacher who has taught up to GCSE level who can merge into the department and fully commit to the responsibilities within the role.

You will be working alongside an experienced department who are looking to continue there recent trend of increasing attainment over recent years. Big in size with over 1000 students this modern state of the art build will provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

There is a large percentage of pupils eligible for free school meals with 45% in this diverse catchment area. Located in the M34 post code of Tameside the school is within a mile of the 67 and has frequent public transport routes directly outside.

Key features of the post;

• Science teaching post for half a term initially but likely to continue for at least a full term

• Working within a “Good” graded Oftsed school

• Teaching pupils whose behaviour is Graded Good by Ofsted

• Pay in line with your scale point M1-M6

You will need to be eligible for a fully enhanced DBS and to provide suitable teaching references. The school are looking to see candidates for interviews and trials shortly so you will need to be available for these and full time work from September.
