Nursery Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Barry
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Fixed-term until July 2026
Our client is a small Primary School in Barry, is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their educational journey.
The Role:
As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children aged 3–4 within a busy and engaging Early Years setting. You will help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages learning through play and supports children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils within the nursery classroom and during outdoor learning

Assisting with planned activities and daily routines
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
-
Supporting personal care where required
-
Working collaboratively with staff to provide high-quality early years provision
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children in an Early Years or nursery setting
-
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
-
A good understanding of child development in the Early Years
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
