Behaviour Teaching Assistant | Cardiff

Job description

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant with Autism qualifications and/or previous experience working with autistic pupils, to carry out this type of support at a dedicated specialist provision.

The School

You will be supporting children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and SEN and will be required to support individuals on a 1:1 basis, assisting with classwork, behaviour management and helping pupils with their daily routine.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be based within a specialist Autism unit. The school is looking to work with an experienced teaching assistant who can implement appropriate programmes for autistic students in the school - this includes experience of Makaton & PECS. You will need to have experience with autism support and be able to lead interventions for individual pupils. You will need to have experience working with children, and be able to build a good rapport with children.

We are also advertising jobs for Teaching Assistants with similar qualifications/experience in supporting pupils with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.
