Are you a recent Psychology graduate passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Are you looking to gain practical experience supporting children affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and challenging behaviour?

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Chorley for a Behaviour Support Worker to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position offered on a 12-week temporary-to-permanent basis through Teaching Personnel.

About the Role:

• Supporting children and young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs

• Providing 1:1 and small group support focused on emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement

• Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams

• Helping students develop resilience, coping strategies and positive routines

Ideal Candidate:

• A Psychology (or related) graduate with a strong interest in ACEs, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support

• Confident, patient and emotionally resilient

• Able to build rapport quickly and manage challenging situations calmly and professionally

• Previous experience working with young people in any setting (education, youth work, care, etc.) is beneficial but not essential
