Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
Stockport, Manchester

  • Full-time position (30 hours per week, term-time only)
  • November 2018 start date
  • Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
  • Earn up to £350 per week

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide Behaviour Support at our partner school in Stockport. The successful Teaching Assistant will join the school in November 2018 and will provide support until the end of the academic year. The role will involve providing both classroom support and 1:1 individual mentoring to support students' progress. The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Working with individuals and small groups of students within a classroom situation to ensure that the schools behaviour policies are upheld throughout lessons
  • Meeting individual students or small groups to support them through withdrawal from classes
  • Challenge and motivate students to promote self-esteem
  • Develop and deliver group workshops for students identified with Behavioural, Social and Emotional Difficulties
  • Liaise with teaching staff, plan, prepare and deliver the support needed, developing strategies when dealing with challenging behaviour

Our partner school is located in Stockport and became a Media Arts Specialist School in 2009. The school is a small Roman Catholic secondary school with just under 600 pupils on roll. As a specialist arts college, they particularly aim to improve the quality of learning in media subjects. Alongside this, we endeavour to nurture a lifelong passion in education. Tolerance, honesty, cooperation and mutual respect for other is visible throughout and as a result, the school community is friendly and welcoming and all staff and pupils are highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join an up and coming Catholic school in Stockport.
