TA ROLE: Our client school has instructed us to source a Teaching Assistant ASAP.
The TA role will involve supporting students with SEMH, ASC, MLD, SpLD and other complex needs on a small group and 1:1 basis. This can include pastoral support outside of the full classroom.
Class sizes are small, with no more than 8 pupils per class, catering for pupils across KS3 and KS4.
Working hours are from 8:30am - 3:15pm, 5 days per week.
The Head Teacher is interested in candidates who have worked in a PRU / Alternative Provision, worked alongside Young Offenders, Sports Coaches, those who have worked with NEETs, those with an Army background, those who have worked in prisons and MORE! (Please note: You don't have to have direct experience in a school, but you MUST have the skill set and knowledge to handle challenging behaviour appropriately and the understanding of pupils who have mental health difficulties.)
The pupils require nurture, care and guidance from an appropriate mentor / support assistant. You must be 'thick-skinned,' energetic, empathetic and non-judgemental with a can-do attitude.

You MUST have experience supporting pupils of a challenging nature and be willing to work in the school on a supply basis initially with a view to becoming a permanent member of staff.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
