Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEND school in Newton Aycliffe who are in need of a full time Behaviour Support Assistant to work within their Key Stage 2 classrooms. The role will consist of working on a small group basis with children with SEND of varying severity's 5 days a week up until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be focusing upon personal development and assisting in classroom activities. The ideal candidate will be confident when managing challenging behaviour and will be an enthusiastic and positive role model for the pupils. You will be working closely with the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants to provide the best care and support for the children in the class, who have a variety of needs surrounding Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties including:

  • Anxiety
  • ADHD
  • Looked after Children

The role will commence as soon as possible and if the candidate is successful in the role it is likely that the position could go permanent; however registration with Teaching Personnel will provide you with further work opportunities across many of our client schools.

You could be earning up to £65 per day in this role, and will have access to our unique CPD training courses, including an upcoming Team Teach course. You will be supported by a team of SEND specialist recruitment consultants who are best placed to support you throughout your role and place you onto any desired courses. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
