One of our client schools in Stockport is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team.
Applications for this post are welcomed from those who have experience monitoring children’s behaviour. This could be in a variety of different capacities including Tutoring, Mentoring, Youth Work, Charity Work, Sports Coaching work, Music Teaching.
The role will involve supporting a Year 9 students on a 1:1 basis. The student concerned:
- Displays challenging behaviour and will often refuse to attend lessons.
- Is very able and can take instructions.
- Can adapt and engage with the mainstream process when needed to.
It is hoped that the individual required will be able to display patience, confidence and resilience when it comes to managing student behaviour. In order for this role to be a success it is hoped that the candidate in questions will be able to act as a role model for the student, both within the classroom as well as across the school site. Senior leaders will expect regular updates on the development and progression of the student, as well as working with the school SENCO when it comes to implementing strategies to maintain engagement.
Additionally, other highlights of this role include:
- Providing pastoral support, implementing strategies to directly enhance academic attainment.
- Working on an extra curricular basis, ensuring that work set has been differentiated to meet the students needs.
- Providing cover supervision when staff are absent, as well as working on a small group basis when required.
Pay for this role: GBP10 - GBP15 per hour
