Behaviour support assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit on behalf of a client secondary school in the Oldham area. Due to an additional need for behaviour and inclusion support, Teaching Personnel are looking to hear from you.

Our client school in Oldham are looking to appoint a behaviour support assistant on a full time basis, to work with students who regularly display challenging behaviour as well as those who are at risk of exclusion.

• Easter 2018 start with a view to a school's contract in September 2018.
• Gain paid experience working in a secondary school setting before potentially moving on to teacher training
• Supporting the pastoral team providing social and emotional support to students
• Liaise with teaching and senior staff about the behaviour of key students
• Encourage pupil cooperation and progression in lessons and around the school

Our client school is a large, diverse secondary school with approximately 1200 students on roll. As it is situated on the Oldham-Rochdale border and ideally located near the M62 motorway, it is easily accessible from both Manchester and Leeds for any interested applicants. The school is rapidly improving with OFSTED commenting that the new leadership team know exactly what needs to be done to continue with this positive trend.

As a behaviour support assistant, you would be expected to have a positive impact on behaviour and be a positive role model who displays the school's ethos and values. You would be working alongside other teachers and liaising with them over the behaviour of identified students.
