Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking applications from Behaviour Support Assistants that are now looking to gain an introduction to a secondary school based within the Bolton LEA.

Ideally, we would like to hear from experienced Behaviour Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants or from applicants with previous experience supporting individuals who are of the age range 11-16.

  • Behaviour Support Positions available
  • Full-time and part-time positions with immediate start dates
  • Pay rate £84-95 per day (dependant on experience)
  • Previous experience in a secondary school setting preferred however not essential
  • It is essential that candidates are able to provide up to date references
  • Candidates must also hold or be willing to apply for DBS that is registered to the update service.

As a Behaviour Support assistant working within one of our key partner secondary schools you will be responsible for the running of 1:1 support sessions as well as small group support for identified students within the school. These sessions will be inclusive for young pupils that are faced with social, emotional and Mental Health difficulties. It will be your responsibility to support these young learners, who may often lack self motivation, to gain the life skills and qualifications that allow them to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities may include:

  • To assist in the support of children with behavioural needs
  • To assist with resolving the behavioural and emotional needs of children.
  • To develop a mutually supportive relationship with teaching staff
  • To be involved in collaborative planning with teaching staff to ensure the effective use of support
  • To advise the teaching staff on the needs of particular students
  • A desire to work with young people who present with challenging behaviour is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
