Job description
A Secondary school based in based in the Leigh area of Wigan wish to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil who is on the Autistic Spectrum (ASC).
The schools SENCO wishes to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately and are offering employment until the end of the academic year, there will also be a view to this being extended dependant on funding and performance over your time within school.
The Position;
- Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant – immediate start
- Working within a ‘Good’ graded school in Wigan
- Opportunity to earn up £84-95 per day dependant upon previous experience
- Working with an identified pupil with ASC
- Previous SEN experience is essential to be considered for this role
As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant that works within our client school, it is essential that you are able to work alongside identified students in a supportive and approachable way, ensuring that the students you are responsible for are able to make steady and constant improvements.
During your time working with students there may be times where the behaviour of students will be challenging and stressful, it is crucial that during these times you are confident, calm and able to diffuse these situations.
Our client Secondary school is a comprehensive school based in Leigh; it is larger than the average-sized Secondary school with approximately 950 students on roll. This is a ‘Good’ graded school where students’ behaviour and their attitudes to learning are good and relationships between students and adults are good.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
