A local Garston School is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Specialist to join the team on a long-term basis!

Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and conducive atmosphere for students to thrive. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop effective behaviour intervention plans.
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Conducting assessments and tracking student progress in terms of behaviour goals.
  • Organizing and delivering workshops to students on topics related to emotional regulation and conflict resolution.
  • Being a positive role model and demonstrating appropriate behaviour and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in behaviour support, counselling, or a related field would be desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with behaviour intervention strategies and techniques.
  • A commitment to the well-being and development of every student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
