An inclusion hub in an RCT ‘Super school’ is due to welcome five new statemented pupils in September. The pupils require full time 1:1 support and will need to be mentored by a proactive and resilient individual who can help them reflect and improve upon their behaviour.

Although mild Additional Learning Needs affect the everyday learning for these pupils, it is essentially a role which involves the management and regulation of challenging behaviour. Some of the pupils come from challenging home lives which means that the ideal applicant will be empathetic and consistent. The transition into secondary school is often challenging enough, yet the school are mindful of impacting the pupil’s ability to grow and develop within their new environment. As a result, some hours of your timetable will be spent supporting other pupils so that your main 1 to 1 child does not become overly dependent on you.

You will be based in the inclusion area of the comprehensive site and will be assisting your pupil with various vocations and alternative curriculums as well as core subjects. Most of your time will be spent in nurture and inclusion zones, however, core subjects will be taught in mainstream classes where there will be a large emphasis placed on getting your pupil to focus.

The role is due to begin in September. As the school is a 3-18 site, they are already learning in the primary unit, but will need a strong and assertive LSA to help them with both academic and social interactions around the school

  • Full time behaviour support role beginning in September
  • Mild ALN such as autism and ADHD
  • For the full academic year with the view of being taken onto permanent school contract Christmas 2020
  • GBP60-GBP65 daily rate
  • Access to CPD accredited courses such as Team Teach
  • Progression in role throughout the school
