A school in Orpington is looking for a Behaviour support assistant with a nurturing approach to start in September.

About The School:

The pupils have some form of Social, Emotional Mental Health, with some being diagnosed with ADHD / ASD / Dyslexia. There are therapists on site as every pupil has therapy at some point in the year - there are some pupils that have therapy throughout the year.

The school is made up of 50 pupils, with 10 pupils per class, from Year 3 to Year 8. There is a bespoke curriculum implemented to ensure each child is given a fair chance in receiving an education.

Breakfast and Lunch is provided to each pupil. Every pupil is taken to and from school in a taxi.

A sports hall and gym is being added on site. This is to encourage pupils to engage in more sports and to improve their team building skills.

You will need to bring your own lunch as you won't be able to leave the site during lunch.

There is on-site parking.

The role:

Work one-to-one with a child throughout the day, ensuring they are supported academically and emotionally.

The role is full time, long term - 8:30am - 15:30pm Monday to Friday. As the pupils do not respond well to change the school will only consider someone who is available long term to avoid bringing in new members of staff frequently.

Training such as Team Teach and safeguarding is essential, however, the school is willing to train the right staff. They are seeking somebody who is eager to work with children and make a difference to their lives, resilience to keep going when the going gets tough and be willing to build a relationship with the pupils. Having the right attitude is key.

The school arranges frequent staff nights out as a way to show appreciation for all the hard work and it gives staff a chance to bond together.

What you need to do:

In order to be considered for the role you must have a Child Work Force DBS on the updated system and be able to provide 2 references. You must also have A - C in Math and English GCSE.

Please contact Fatjona on 02075933070 or email with your updated CV and a short cover letter outlining why you should be considered for the role.
