Autism Specialist

Job description

We are looking for people with personal and professional experience of working with and caring for children with Autism Spectrum Condition, who are familiar with their needs, attributes and psychology.
SEN schools are specially designed and structure to bring a familiar routine to the students, who can feel comfortable in their surroundings and able to develop.

Supporting students with autism can be challenging so it is important to be patient, calm, and understanding of their personal quirks, helping to create a non judgemental and relaxed atmosphere.

Some children on the severe end of the spectrum may be non verbal, or have outbursts, and use PECS, BSL or Makaton to communicate. Any candidates with knowledge of these is preferable.
