Teaching Personnel are now recruiting for a Specialist SEN Teacher. The position is to start April 2018 on a long-term basis, but dependent on how the candidate gets on it is likely to be extended to a permanent contract.
The school is based in the LE67 area of Leicestershire. The school in question is a 'Specialist SEN School' for children (aged between 5-18 years) with severe learning difficulties. Almost all other pupils have either autism, moderate learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
The school are ideally looking for a teacher to work with secondary aged students, working with mixed abilities. However, the school would consider a teacher to work with primary age students dependent on the applicants experience and specialism.
The school are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Fully qualified teacher (with QTS).
- Extensive experience supporting children on the Autistic spectrum, including those with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Some experience working in SEN settings.
- Additional qualifications in Team Teach, MAPA, Autism, Manual Handling etc are desirable but NOT essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
