Job Title: Attendance Officer with Pastoral Duties

We are looking for an Attendance Officer with pastoral duties to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing and academic success of our students.
Role Overview:
As Attendance Officer with Pastoral Duties, you will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, ensuring that our school maintains high standards in terms of attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to promote excellent attendance and address any issues that may be preventing students from attending school regularly.
In addition to your role as Attendance Officer, you will also provide pastoral support, helping to nurture and guide students who require additional support to engage with their education, improve their wellbeing, and ensure they are successful in their studies. This combined role will allow you to make a real difference to students' lives and contribute to the wider pastoral care of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Attendance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance.
- Investigate and address patterns of absence, following up with students and parents to resolve issues promptly.
- Report on attendance data to senior leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Promote Positive Attendance:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve overall student attendance and punctuality.
- Work with students, staff, and parents to highlight the importance of regular attendance and create action plans to support students with attendance issues.
- Support with Pastoral Care:
- Provide day-to-day pastoral support to students, helping them to overcome any barriers to learning, whether academic or personal.
- Act as a point of contact for students requiring additional support, referring them to appropriate services when necessary.
- Liaise with form tutors, year heads, and other pastoral staff to address any concerns regarding student wellbeing or behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
