Job description

1:1 Teacher/Teaching Assistant required asap near Thurrock

We are currently looking for someone to work 1:1 with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The position is within a small SEN School and would be challenging but highly rewarding roles. Particular personal or professional experience of supporting individuals with ASC/MLD is highly desirable, such as an understanding of the complexities related to ASC.

The ideal person would have a good knowledge of teaching and behaviour strategies relevant to ASC.

The position will be working at a school close to Colchester. The school has 2 separate sites which accommodate for around 15 students.

Candidates who are familiar with PEC’s, TEACCH system, signing (Makaton/BSL/sign-a-long) are strongly encouraged to apply as these skills will be very relevant to the role. A Team Teach qualification or relevant moving and handling experience would be beneficial but not essential. Teaching Personnel are also able to provide a range of training; including Team Teach, Introduction to Autism and Moving and Handling.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
