- OUTSTANDING SEN school in Salford
- School requires multiple SEN Teaching Assistants
An 'OUTSTANDING' special school in Salford require an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 9 class for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition. The successful Teaching Assistant must be able to manage challenging behaviour whilst engaging pupils within the classroom. The Teaching Assistant must be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.
It is essential for the Teaching Assistant to have;
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
• Previous experience in a teaching assistant or care environment
• Previous experience working with pupils with SEN/D - in particular Autistic Spectrum Condition
• Previous experience delivering personal care
• Experience working with children and young adults with multi sensory impairments and/or complex learning difficulties and disabilities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills
It is desirable for the Teaching Assistant to;
• be Team-Teach/ MAPA trained
• have experience working with Plevels
• have experience using alternative communication aids (e.g. PECS/ BSL)
• have level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualifications
• have a enhanced DBS on the update service
