- A sound understanding of meeting the needs of learners with Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Able to effectively implement individual education and behaviour plans
- Committed to raising the attainment of pupils with additional learning needs
Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist SEN School in Leeds who are seeking to appoint an experienced Inclusion Worker to support secondary aged pupils with Autism Spectrum conditions. The school is an all age (2-19) special school for pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You will be based in the secondary site with learners aged 11-16, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autism.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and will have a sound understanding of managing some of the behavioural difficulties that may be experienced by children or adults with ASC. The world can be a confusing, isolating and daunting place for young people with ASC and it is their fundamental difficulties with communication and social interaction that are often the root cause of difficult behaviour. You may hold a current Team Teach or equivalent training certificate.
You may be required to take part in regular review meetings with education staff and parents, so strong organisational skills are essential, as is a commitment to develop and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (ECHP) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBP).
Teaching Personnel are proud to be celebrating their 20th year as the UK’s leading supply agency. We have established both local and national presence – offering a diverse range of work in a variety of settings. From short term and emergency cover to long term and permanent positions, we are happy to be able to offer you flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Our CPD academy will ensure that you are kept up to date through relevant courses, with Team Teach, EAL, Moving and Handling, Introduction to Autism, and Effective Behaviour Management just some of the specialist SEN sessions you can benefit from as a registered candidate with Teaching Personnel. We are committed to finding you your perfect role.
