ASC teaching assistant required at secondary school in Cheshire.
Our client school in the Cheshire East LEA, just south of Manchester are looking to add to their support staff in January and have a number of post available for an experienced ASC teaching assistant who is comfortable supporting complex ASC in secondary aged pupils.
* Flexible working schedule (Part or full day timetable dependant on preference)
* Pay ranging dependant on level of experience (£50 - )
* Opportunity to work in a comprehensive support department with excellent training
* January start with possibility of working for full academic year
Our client school is a very large secondary in a leafy area of Wilmslow, Cheshire, easily accessible via the M56 from Manchester and the A537 from Knutsford and Macclesfield. The school stands on the original site of the all boys grammar school, but is now a mixed secondary for 11-18 with a newly built sixth form. The school itself is a designated ‘Centre of Excellence’ and received a “Good” grading in its most recent Ofsted inspection. The school has a number of specialist provisions for pupils with Special Educational Needs including ASC, SEMH and HI.
This position will consist of working in the purpose built autism resource centre with students using the excellent provisions for the learning. The desired candidate will have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive and meaningful relationship with students, showing patience and perseverance. The school has a reputation for nurturing students and staff are expected to promote growth in an academic and social nature.
