LSA needed in Slough

  • Keen to work with young people who have a diagnosis of Autism
  • Specific training offered when necessary

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an SEN school in Slough who are looking for an SEN LSA with training and experience in working with Autism.

About the role

The role is to support a small number of primary school students on a 1-1 basis to help them progress and reach their learning aims. All students have Autism so will need specialist support and guidance during their classes. There will be a particular focus on supporting with SATS preparation. Each student has their own EHCP so full details will be provided to support you with the role. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure all their needs are being met.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children special educational needs and more specifically, supporting with Autism, ADHD and Asperger’s. Additional qualifications in Autism are desirable, but experience supporting these needs is more paramount. Due to the nature of the students a patient, caring and compassionate approach is needed. We are looking for recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils and more experienced Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. Qualifications such as NVQ L2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable but not essential.

Requirements

Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and it to be registered to the update service, we can help you register for a DBS if needed.
