Art and Design teacher - Bury

Are you looking for a full-time Art and Design teacher position beginning September 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary school in the Bury area that are currently looking for a full-time Art teacher to join their team for a 12 month position.

  • Full-time Art teacher, required from September 2019 until the end of the academic year.
  • Teaching across Key Stage Three and GCSE
  • Must hold subject specific qualifications within Art and Design
  • Both experienced and newly qualified Art and Design teachers are welcome to apply as relevant induction support will be provided.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (£23,720 - £39,400 per annum)
  • Secondary school looking for ambitious staff to help improve overall student attainment

Our client school has been noted for their welcoming staff community and culture with strong support to provide staff with the most efficient teaching methods. The incoming Art and Design teacher can expect to work with some challenging behaviour alongside pupils in need of extra support to increase their attainment.

The successful Art and Design teacher will be expected to;

  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Art
  • Be committed to delivering a highly effective education in a truly inclusive environment
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Art and Design lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to Senior Teachers in order to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
  • Guide pupils with challenging behaviour and implement strategies to help manage this behaviour
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.

Our partner Secondary school is looking for an Art and Design teacher who can aid challenging pupils' attainment alongside providing behaviour management interventions. Our client school does provide excellent behavioural support for their staff however; any experience with challenging behaviour or behaviour management training will be highly valued.

Our client academy is located in Bury and can be accessed via the M66 and A58 from surrounding areas such as Bolton and Salford. For non-drivers, there are several public transportation links from surrounding areas including Bolton, Salford and central Manchester.
