ADHD and Behavioural Teaching Assistant

Job description

We are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work alongside a Year 4 boy in an 'Outstanding' primary school in the Greenwich area. The pupil requires an ADHD and Behavioural Specialist Teaching Assistant. We would like someone who is able to show a good level of care, patience and demonstrate willingness to adapt and learn throughout the learning development process. It is vital to ensure they can attain and maintain good academic levels.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1 year experience working with pupils with behavioural challenges
  • Be able to work full-time
  • Be confident at supporting pupils behaviour inside and outside of the classroom
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions to maintain pupils progress
  • Promote positive behaviour at all times
  • Have Restraint Handling, De-escalation or Team Teach training
  • Support in preparations of any extra appropriate classroom activities required for the pupil
  • Implement pupil safety procedures
  • Any related course or qualification would be ideal

As a Challenging Behaviour specialist you must show genuine passion in helping the pupil to achieve their full potential. Incorporating previously gained experience to tailor to the new individuals needs and show willingness to learn of any new skills or knowledge required.
