1:2 Behaviour Support Assistant Needed to work alongside two children in Y1.

Leyland Primary School PR25

The Role

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a dynamic Teaching Assistant to work 1:2 with two children who are transitioning from Reception to Y1. This is a behaviour support role, both children have Special Educational Needs however and both children do need additional direction and extra support during this crucial year group to develop Speech and Language and also social skills. Experience working alongside children with challenging behaviour is essential for this role and the Headteacher has expressed the ideal candidate must be 'firm but fair' to ensure that both children are progressing and on track. This is a full time role Monday - Friday working from 9:00 - 15:15 (5.25 hours per day).

Your School

This particular school is an average sized Primary School who have been working with Teaching Personnel for a number of years. We hold a long-standing relationship with SLT and understand the school ethos. The school do not use a lot of supply however the staff we have had working in the school have thoroughly enjoyed their time there and have expressed the school is made up of a welcoming and supportive team.

Essential: Level 2 qualification or above. Experience working alongside children with SEN. You must have worked within a Primary School within the last 12 months. Confident working alongside children with challenging behaviour and a proven track record of raising attainment within the classroom.
