Location: Northampton, NN1 and NN14 area
Contract: Full-time
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN allowance (dependent on experience)
Start: ASAP after Easter
About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and resilient Teacher to join our dedicated team within an Alternative Provision in Northamptonshire area, supporting secondary-aged pupils (KS3 and KS4).
The provision works with young people who have been permanently excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or require alternative educational support due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by re-engaging students with education and supporting them to achieve both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours using restorative and trauma-informed approaches

Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Track and monitor student progress, adapting provision where necessary

Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external agencies
-
Contribute to behaviour support plans and pastoral development

Promote positive relationships, resilience, and self-regulation skills
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils (KS3/KS4)
-
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
-
Experience in a PRU, alternative provision, SEN, or mainstream school with high pastoral needs (desirable)

A genuine passion for inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners
-
High expectations for both academic achievement and personal development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
