THE ROLE:
Working with secondary aged pupils with behavioural needs as a teaching assistant. The role includes driving to the school, picking the students up and working with the pupils out of the school environment at a location decided by the school, normally this is at a library or a learning zone. Hours can vary during the week depending on the needs of the school and the students needing assistance, the majority of hours completed in this work are full days from 8:30 - 3:30. The pupils will be aged between 11-17 and the school will offer petrol allowance as you will be required to use your transport, due to this you will also need Business Insurance on your vehicle.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a secondary environment along with a strong knowledge of SEND requirements.
- Drive and determination for pupil development while maintaining high expectations of achievement.
- Empathy and caring nature while dealing with sensitive scenarios.
- Be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents.
- Show adaptability and pro-activeness while under pressure.
- Be confident to develop pupils socially, emotionally and behaviourally.
To be eligible for this role Through Teaching Personnel you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Full drivers licence / access to own car with business insurance
- Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
