Due to recent growth, the Head Teacher at a local SEN school is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to provide reliable and consistent support for a child and the class teacher.
This is a special school for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including severe and moderate learning difficulties, autism and complex needs. They provide education and care within a beautiful and spacious natural environment where all staff work together to make a real and positive difference in the lives of their students.
The ideal candidate MUST:
- Have a NVQ Level 2 minimum in Health and Social Care or similar
- Be available from September 2019 to carry out a long-term role
- GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English
- Be passionate about working with children and supporting learning and welfare
- Nurturing attitude
- Calm and patient manner
Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/MAPA/Team Teach/Moving and Handling would be advantageous.
This particular role is full time Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only to start in September 2019. If you would like to apply for this position please contact me as soon as possible. We are looking for someone with availability to work the whole of the next academic year.
In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
