1:1 Support Assistant

 

Teaching Personnel in partnership with a specialist provision in Rawtenstall are looking to recruit a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant.

 

The role

As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant you will be working with individuals who require additional support. The provision is a specialist provision catering for pupils aged between 11 – 16 years old with SEMH. A 1:1 support assistant will lead activities set by the class teacher and follow behaviour plans to best support the children. The behaviour within the school may be challenging so you will need to be able to diffuse high pressured situations in a calm and professional manner whilst putting the needs of the pupils first. You will create positive relationships with the children and model the correct behaviours

  • Full-time hours Monday – Friday (8.30- 15.00)
  • £12.90 p/h
  • Experience in education is essential
  • No relevant qualifications to education required

The provision

The secondary provision caters for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health and aim to encourage pupils to make positive choices.  The specialist staff who work at this provision are trained to safeguard each pupil wellbeing whilst following the provisions policies to ensure all individual needs are being met and put first. This provision may present its challenges, so you must be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, ensuring all protocols and policies are still being adhered to throughout, putting the needs of your pupils first. The provision offers a broad and balanced curriculum.
