Teaching Personnel are currently working very close with an academy in Totnes who require outreach workers to start immediately. This role will require you to have access to a vehicle for this position.
Job Purpose:
- To provide professional 1:1 support and supervision for children and young people, encouraging their engagement and working towards agreed aims and objectives.
- To plan, deliver and evidence a programme of intervention and learning activities.
- To support vulnerable young people helping to improve their emotional wellbeing, raise their aspirations to learn and support them in achieving their potential
Safeguarding
This academy places safeguarding at the heart of all that it does and to facilitate this, all staff are expected to:
- * Participate fully in the On Track induction programme.
- * Adhere to the Staff Conduct with Students policy at all times.
- * Read and ensure understanding of all policies relating to safeguarding.
- * Be mindful of safeguarding and child protection issues in relation to all students.
- * Report any concerns using the appropriate documentation.
- * Engage positively in all training opportunities.
It is ideal to have:
- Experience where you managed challenging behaviour.
- Teaching assistant experience working 1:1 within a SEN school or a college.
- A genuine interest in helping young people with barriers to learning and communication.
- Ability to foresee, manage and deescalate challenging behaviour within lines of school behaviour policy and report on behaviour changes effectively.
- CHILD ONLY workforce DBS on the updates service or be willing to apply for one.
