Job description

Our client school seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant/ Behaviour Support Worker to join their team from March 2018. The school is a specialist primary school catering for pupils with statements of SEMH and other behavioural needs. The school is based in Poole and is easily accessible by car or public transport.

This is a full time role to work within a Key Stage 2 class, supporting pupils with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Needs. The role will involve supporting the pupils both inside and outside the classroom and helping them to access the curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

-Have experience supporting children with challenging and complex needs
-Be able to work as part of a team
-Effectively communicate with parents, LEA and other members of the team
-Be able to work independently and use their initiative to adapt the learning as appropriate for the pupil
-Be resilient and confident supporting challenging behaviour
-Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C, including Maths and English

If you are interested in this role we would love to hear from you. We would require:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can assist you in this)
  • Experience with the current UK Curriculum

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
