Youth Worker
Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Youth Worker at one of our partner schools in the Trafford area.
The school follows a ‘child first’ approach to steer young offenders from the ages of 10-17 in the right direction. The students at this centre are often from deprived backgrounds primarily with behavioural and learning difficulties, in addition to problems with their social, emotional and mental health. The appropriate candidate will be able to show confidence when dealing with the situations that can arise working with children with behavioural difficulties. The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be intervening when these difficulties arise and guiding the pupil accordingly to help them understand the causes and consequences of their actions. A background in criminology, psychology or counselling and previous relevant experience would be beneficial, however this is not essential. Pay for this position ranges from GBP65 - GBP70 per day, with typical working hours being between 8:30am - 3:30pm. Teaching Personnel is the one of the UK's biggest teaching and support staff agencies, placing thousands of candidates at over 5000 schools each academic year. Established in 1996, we have 24 years industry experience informing the process of you applying for positions to being placed in a role that’s right for you. You will be assigned a consultant if you decide to register with us who will guide you through the process, ensuring all the relevant documents are in place. Teaching Personnel also offer heavily discounted CPD programs, our own safeguarding training and an online diary to help you manage your workload whilst you’re with us.
A lot of the roles we offer are temporary, but with a high possibility of becoming permanent if you settle into the job well. If you are interested in applying for this role or have any further questions, email neal.sutton@teachingpersonnel.com or call 0161 242 1793.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
