Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Didsbury
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Starting September 2025)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join a vibrant educational setting in Didsbury. This is a full-time, temporary role starting in September 2025, ideal for someone looking to build experience in the school environment.

About the Role:

As a Youth Worker, you will support students across a range of year groups, helping them engage with their learning and personal development. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, your focus will be on building positive relationships with students, offering support, encouragement, and a listening ear when they need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to young people during the school day

  • Support student engagement, wellbeing, and behaviour management

  • Assist with the delivery of activities and small group sessions

  • Liaise with teaching and pastoral teams to help meet students’ individual needs

  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all learners

Who We’re Looking For:

You don’t need to have worked in a school before. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in youth work, community projects, coaching, outreach, or other youth-focused roles. What’s most important is your ability to connect with young people, offer support, and help them thrive.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with young people in any setting (e.g., youth clubs, sports coaching, charities, outreach programs)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Empathy, patience, and resilience

  • A genuine desire to work in the education sector

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies

  • Understanding of the challenges facing young people today

  • Relevant qualifications in youth work or related fields

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
