Youth Worker – Secondary School (Levenshulme)

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and reach their full potential? A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Levenshulme is seeking a dedicated and resilient Youth Worker to join their pastoral and support team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident, empathetic, and experienced in working with teenagers who may be at risk of disengagement, exclusion, or social-emotional difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusted relationships with students, offering guidance, support, and positive role modelling

• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with behavioural, emotional, or attendance issues

• Support school-wide wellbeing and behaviour strategies

• Liaise with pastoral teams, SENCOs, families, and external agencies to ensure joined-up support

• Promote positive choices, resilience, and engagement with learning

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, or community settings

• Calm, confident, and able to de-escalate challenging behaviour

• Passionate about inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Understanding of safeguarding, SEMH needs, and trauma-informed practice is desirable
